Collection: American Bulldog
The American Bulldog is a powerful yet tender-hearted breed, with its muscular frame, broad chest, and signature goofy grin hiding an affectionate, loyal soul. Descended from the Old English Bulldog and brought to the American South by working-class immigrants, these dogs earned their keep on farms — guarding property, hunting feral pigs, and managing cattle. Nearly lost in the 20th century, the breed was revived by dedicated breeders, and today’s American Bulldog remains a courageous protector and steadfast companion. Despite their imposing look, they’re often convinced they’re lapdogs, happily sprawling across their humans for cuddles, their expressive eyes and lolling tongues radiating joy.
But life with an American Bulldog isn’t without its challenges — and charms. Their boundless energy and playful spirit can lead to toppled flower pots or muddy paw prints on clean floors, while their independent streak sometimes means selective hearing when adventure calls. Stubborn at times, they respond best to patient, positive training (with plenty of treats). Yet no matter the occasional frustration, their devotion is unmatched: gentle with children, endlessly loyal, and always ready to guard or snuggle. The American Bulldog is a beautiful blend of history, strength, and irresistible sweetness.
