The Pomeranian is a tiny toy dog breed originating from the Baltic region of Pomerania. Weighing 3 to 7 pounds and standing 6 to 7 inches tall, these compact dogs are famous for their thick double coats, fox-like faces, and playful, alert personalities. Descended from large Arctic sled dogs, their size was significantly reduced in the 19th century thanks to British royalty, notably Queen Victoria.
